Phasing out of combustion engine vehicles in the Brussels-Capital Region: Impact on health

On 25 June 2021, the Brussels-Capital Region Government launched its Low Emission Mobility strategy, aiming to ban diesel vehicles by 2030, and petrol, LPG and CNG vehicles by 2035. This strategy is supported by a number of impact assessments, coordinated by Bruxelles Environnement, and includes an assessment of the health impact of phasing out of combustion engine vehicles in the Brussels-Capital Region, conducted by VITO, the Flemish Institute for Technological Research.

More information about the Low Emission Mobility strategy is available in French and in Dutch.

The health impact assessment report is available in French and in Dutch, with a summary available in English.
